Adding airplants to your office is something every employee should want to do! Numerous scientific studies prove the benefits: plants in our working environment improve both mental and physical health and boost productivity!
One of the best qualities of airplants is that they naturally contribute to our health by cleaning the air and improving the humidity level of the air. Dr. Margaret Burchett, an internationally respected air quality researcher of the University of Technology Sydney, even states ‘It is expected that indoor plants will become standard technology - a vital building installation element for improving indoor air quality.’
Plants also help to naturally alleviate stress at the workplace. Stress is a normal part of any workday, but most offices are still looking as far from nature as possible. Adding more green to your workplace can really help to decrease stress and create a more healthy space to work in. In a study done at Washington State University, plants were used to measure stress levels in employees at workstations. Participants working in an environment with plants present appeared to be 12 percent more productive and less stressed than their non-plant counterparts.
Also, productivity is known to be improved in a work environment where plants are present. Cognitive tasks, concentration and focus are all improved. In numerous studies conducted it has been found that fewer mistakes are made, tasks are completed faster and, in the case of computer workers, productivity increased. For example, a Texas A&M University research team explored the link between plants and productivity. Participants were given several creative problem-solving tests in a variety of office environments. The conditions included a workspace with plants, a setting with a sculpture and an area with no decorative embellishments. During the study, participants demonstrated more innovative thinking, generating more ideas and original solutions to problems in the office environment that included plants. The higher level of concentration can be attributed to the plants ability to reduce excess carbon dioxide in the air.
Science has spoken. Plants make us feel good at the office! If you want to improve your health and productivity at the workplace, simply add some airplants to the environment so you can enjoy the amazing benefits of natural beauty. What are you waiting for? Although not so new on the European market, airplants are gaining more momentum recently. They seem to be a perfect choice for busy nature lovers who want to add greenness to their interior but who often struggle to keep plants alive for a longer period of time.
So what is so special about these plants?:)
- They don’t need soil to thrive! Air plants absorb their nutrients and water from the air, through their porous leaves. All they need is a bit of water - we recommend spraying them 2-3 times per week.
- They clean the air and add humidity to your interior by giving off more water to the atmosphere than they absorb. An improved humidity level is very important for your health since viruses thrive in dry air, especially during cold winter months.
- They love beautiful design. The rootless nature of airplants gives a lot of possibilities on how to display air plants in your interior. Our main collection of holders made from wood is inspired by their natural environment where they attach themselves on trees.
- Children and cats love them!
- They have a good price . Air plants are not more expensive than cut flowers and they last much longer!

Flashback from Henri-Louis Pernod VIP Lounge at Fiac, Paris!
October was definitely “the month” of the year for us. The decision that Etairnity would be decorating Grand Palais' VIP Lounge during FIAC came in the last minute and brought a lot of excitement to the team!
FIAC - Foire internationale d'art contemporain - is the leading French art fair and at the same time an amazing manifestation of contemporary art. The event has been taking place every October since 1974 in Paris and this year's 42nd edition was hosted in the scenic Grand Palais. The event's VIP Lounge, dedicated to host the elite of international contemporary art, was this time created by Pernod Ricard in cooperation with event agency Crazybaby. The guests were spoiled by carefully mixed, delicious cocktails created by Parisian mixologist Eric Fossard.
In such an artistic setting, Etairnity was honored to add some green inspiration to the scene! To match the Parisian neo-industrial style of the interior, we created a suspended garden experience outdoors, a unique grid of Etairnity cubes and discs carefully aligned against the black walls. A great parade of our exotic airplants, including Tillandsia Juncea, that was playfully hanging upside down! Indoors, our Spanish Moss Spheres were welcoming each guest upon their arrival to the "cafe". These unique airplants were hanging freely besides the entrances where a soft wind was blowing them gently. What a romantic dance!
